Fox High Frequency shorts

Another recent purchase which I have only tried on and not even ridden in yet but a simple fitting provides enough information for a brief review.

Available in a range of colours I went for my usual stealth colour of black.

These shorts are classic, seen the world over on numerous riders they feature:

  • fixed inner liner with a zip fly (care if you want separate liners, these are in there for good)
  • high performance dual density chamois in the inner liner
  • zippered side stash pocket that is almost invisible. So invisiblein fact that it wasn't unil I read the product spec that I actually spotted it (it wasn't high on my list of 'must-have's)
  • board short inspired drawstring fly closure (more on that later)
  • embroidered and screen printed logos (large fox logos on the side panels and a some kind of logo on the rear waistline)
  • rear stretch yoke for pedalling mobility

The fabric used is the shiny vinyl type that you expect but the key issue with these shorts is the fit.

I ordered a 34 waist whic his my size but boy, these are slim fitting. They do fit me but there isn't much room for manoeuvre in them.

They also have the low slung waist beloved of teenage girls with pireced belly-buttons so if you are a middle aged gent of the type I normally see out on the hills this may not be for you. Definitely consider a size up from your normal size.

The waist is secured by a zip fly with a velcro flap and then a drawstring waist. A sort of belt and braces job but much better than the Fox Sargeant shorts that I had which had a terrible zip and button arrangment.

The price at £39-99 is reduced and very reasonable. Further updates to follow.
