Tip of the Week Tip 7: Keep your shades safe Fed up of buying expensive shades like Oakley half-jackets or those specialized shades that are supposed not to mist up (yeah right) and then either losing them when you put them down on the trail to repair a flat or stuffing them in your back pack only to find them scratched, squashed or simply too damn much of a pain to sto and get them out? Well, use our useful tip which this week comes from a new rider to diaryofamountainbiker; Colin. You know those elastic things that the other half uses to hold back their hair? Just get hold of one of those and place it over the chest strap of your camelbak. Double it over to make it tighter and then do up the chest strap. Now push your shades through the two loops Fold the arms closed And there you go, your shades are perfectly safe, unlikely to disappear and close to hand for when you need to use them. The elastic hair thingies even come in many colours so you can co-ordinate with your clothing or bike if you want. It's easy and more than likely free if you have a female in the house. A top tip.
